OBX - 2009

As I sit here on the sofa in the condo, overlooking the ocean waves crash on the shore, I can't say enough what a wonderful week we all had on our annual Goodman family vaca to the Outerbanks, NC! I must say, I am lamenting as I think about leaving in a few short hours (we are driving home overnight for Zach's sake... our hope is he'll sleep all the way home). Len is taking a "power nap" so he's well rested for the drive, and Zachary is snoozing here on the couch with me... I wish we could stay another week. The weather was cooler than we usually experience, which actually was quite nice - low 80's most of the days with some clouds and showers on a few of the days, but for the most part, certainly nothing to complain about. Today was probably the nicest day of them all... the critter even enjoyed his nap oceanside on the beach under Grandma and Poppie's canopie. Isn't that just the life?!?

Let me back up and start at the beginning of our journey, which began very early last Saturday morning. We headed out of sunny Bel Air at the crack of dawn in route to Clayton, NC - we started vaca at Dan's house outside of Raleigh. This was our first trip to Dan's house and we just LOVED it! Zachary, along with the rest of us, had a blast helping his Uncle Dan celebrate his birthday at a huge barbeque for friends and family. The next morning, we hit the road for the BEACH... woo hoo!!
