Mommy's new wheels!

I was so excited to start this blog entry... I took a few pictures of Len hard at work outside and ran in to start typing! Last weekend I featured Zachary's new wheels... this weekend's feature was going to be all about Mommy's new wheels! For my birthday, Len gave me an IOU for a new bicycle (in the form of an old-fashioned bike horn... how cute!) that would be good to hold the cool bike seat Santa brought Zach this year. Today, Len and I finally found a bike that we both liked, since at any given time, either of us could be the one taking Zach for a ride (the child seat can't be put on Len's mountain bike).

The weather this weekend has been pretty gloomy for the most part (as the reports told us it would be), but we were surprised and excited to end up with an unpredicted warm sunny Sunday afternoon. We were both so excited to get home from the store and put it all together, so we could go for a quick ride before dinner after Zachary finished his nap.


Well, much to my disappointment, just as I took my first test lap around the court while Len was figuring out the child seat, I looked out at the horizon and saw VERY dark clouds and lightening. I hurried back just in time to help Len get all of the boxes, tools and equipment inside right before the heavens opened up with a torrential downpour of rain and pebble-sized hail! Wouldn't you know Zach slept through it all... even the rumbles of thunder! Unless the sun decides to come back out, I guess our family ride will need to wait until next weekend... oh well! Maybe I'll just go do a load of laundry instead... good times!
